ABOUT THE SEEN COLLECTIVE

For women, trans and non-binary leaders who are ready to be known - not just needed.
You didn't get here by accident.
You built something. You led people. You made hard decisions, held difficult conversations, absorbed more than your share - and you did it all with a level of care that most people around you never fully saw.
That's the thing nobody tells you about leading as a female, trans or non-binary person. The higher you go, the more invisible the real you becomes. People stop seeing a person and start seeing a position. They bring you their needs, their fears, their unresolved wounds - and they do it without thinking, because somewhere deep in our collective conditioning, we who lead got cast in a role that was never ours to carry alone.
The mother. The fixer. The one who holds it together.
And you do. Because you're good at it. Because you care. Because that's who you are.
But caring doesn't mean you stopped needing to be cared for.
Leading doesn't mean you stopped needing to be seen. And building something meaningful for others doesn't mean you forfeited the right to have something meaningful built for you.
The Seen Collective exists because that forfeiture was never yours to make.
This is a community for women, trans and non-binary leaders who are tired of being needed by everyone and truly known by few.
Who have been projected upon, leaned on, and quietly unseen, and who are ready, finally, to be met. Not as a role. Not as a resource. As a full, complex, deeply worthy human being who built something from love and deserves to be witnessed for it.
We are not a networking group. We are not a leadership accelerator. We are not here to make you more productive or more profitable or more anything.
We are here to remind you of something you already know but may have forgotten somewhere along the way.
You are not the role.
You never were.
Witnessed Retreats is our flagship offering — a six-day all-inclusive retreat in Mexico where the holding begins. The Witnessed Circle is our alumni community, where it continues.
Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here.

A note from Jennifer...
I want to tell you something I don't think gets said enough to women, trans and nonbinary people who lead.
What you've built matters. The care you brought to it was real. And the fact that it has cost you more than anyone around you seems to understand - that's not weakness. That's the particular weight of leading as a woman in a world that was never quite designed with you in mind.
I know this because I've lived it.
I'm a licensed counselor and the founder of Protea Wellness, a group behavioral health practice I built over eight years from the ground up - from a solo practice to a team of over fifty clinicians across three locations. I did it with intention, with heart, and with a level of care that I poured into every hire, every decision, every hard conversation.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I started to feel invisible.
Not to myself. I always knew who I was. But to the people around me - the ones I'd hired, supported and believed in - I had quietly become a function. The boss. The one who held it together. The person everyone needed something from, and nobody thought to truly see.
I tried to talk about it. I trusted the wrong people with it. I carried it longer than I should have. And through all of it, what I kept thinking was: why isn't there a space for this? Why is there nowhere for women like me to go and simply be known?
That question is why Witnessed Retreats exists.
I built The Seen Collective because I needed it and it didn't exist.
Because the loneliness of leading a group practice - or a company, a team, an organization - as a woman, trans or nonbinary person is a specific and under-named kind of pain. Because women are socialized from birth to care for others, and then we build things where everyone expects exactly that from us, and nobody thinks to return it. Because I have watched talented, deeply caring people leave leadership entirely - not because they failed, but because the weight of being unseen finally became unbearable. Giving their everything was never enough. I don't want to lose any more good, caring leaders to that kind of burn out.
I'm a clinician by training, which means I understand what it takes to hold space for others at the deepest level. And it means I know, with absolute certainty, what happens when that space is never held for you in return.
I also know what it feels like to come back to yourself. To find your footing again. To remember that your goodness was never in question - it just needed a room where someone could finally reflect it back clearly.
That's the room I'm building.
A little more about me:
When I'm not building Witnessed or running Protea Wellness, you'll find me learning silversmithing - there's something grounding about working with your hands, making something real and lasting from raw material. I love to travel, I'm endlessly drawn to the desert of New Mexico I now call home, and I carry a little bit of the Pacific Northwest wherever I go. I'm a Libra sun with a Pisces rising and Taurus moon, which probably explains both my love of beauty and my stubborn commitment to building things that actually matter. I share my life with a partner and fur children.
What I believe:
Women who lead are not too much. They are not too sensitive, too emotional, or too invested. They are not failing when they feel the cost of leadership - they are being honest about something the world has been too comfortable ignoring.
You deserve to be witnessed. Not for what you produce or provide, but for who you are.
That's what we're here for.
